Japan’s First! Successful R&D of Hydrogen-Powered Gas Lamps

At the 25th H2 & FC EXPO Spring, held at Tokyo Big Sight from March 17 to 19, 2026, the Yamanashi Industrial Technology Center exhibited a hydrogen gas lamp system, for which our company assisted in the production. As part of its initiative to move away from fossil fuels, the Center successfully developed the system to safely utilize hydrogen—generated through water electrolysis—as a gas lamp flame without the need for high-pressure gas cylinders.

Yamanashi Prefecture is Japan’s leading municipality in implementing P2G (Power to Gas) technology. It operates one of the nation’s largest water electrolysis facilities and has pioneered a model for supplying green hydrogen, derived from renewable energy, to both industry and local communities.

We are honored to have contributed to such an advanced project, supporting regional energy independence and the decarbonization of industry through this collaboration.
